Footsteps...

Footsteps Towards a Cure Fundraiser

Hundreds of students from Parkway Elementary School and Mattlin Middle School in Plainview, New York raised over $2,600 for Jordan's Footsteps in a one week period in March, 2009. Students at each school purchased footsteps to be hung around the school. Each footstep had the name of the child who purchased it.

In Mattlin, the fundraiser was incorporated into its Spirit Week competition when grades competed against each other for spirit points. Each grade had their own color footstep and at the end of each day, these footsteps were hung around the school. The grade with the most footsteps at the end of the week earned the most spirit points for their grade.

At Parkway, the multi-colored footsteps were hung thorughout the hallways at the end of each day. Students were eager to find their names on the footsteps each day when they arrived at school. The fundraiser was a huge success and we thank the students for their awesome job.
